KNOF Design
KNOF design is owned and inspired by Susan Knof, international interiors professional whose work has graced the covers of over twenty leading global magazines, including ELLE Decoration. Having lived and worked in New York, Sydney and London, her background lends a sophisticated and cosmopolitan style to her designs. As Director, Susan started the company in 2012 after over 15 years in the architecture and design industry.
Her tenure includes roles at large architectural practices, such as Gensler, TPG, and SOSH Architects based in New York City.
Prior to establishing KNOF design she was a lead designer with luxury London based design practice, SHH architects, where she lead a team focusing on high-end Residential interiors throughout the UK and Europe.
She holds a BFA (Hons) from Miami University where she majored in Interior Architecture + Design. Susan was an Associate Professor at Berkeley College in the USA and has also done volunteer construction work for 'Habitat for Humanity International' in mainland USA and Hawaii.
She is a full member of the BIID and is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional. In 2011 Susan was invited to be on the steering committee of leading British design publication IDFX. In 2015 KNOF design was shortlisted for the International Design and Architecture Awards and won Gold in the London Design Awards.

About Susan Knof
Somewhere between creative energy and pure serenity, I find balance. Life is about balance, so is design.
My approach to design is respectful and considered, preserving the character and authenticity of an existing building whilst creating something entirely new.
I have profound respect for classic building methods and traditional handicrafts. The time and consideration of hand building to woodcarving is symbolic of love and devotion.
To honour the handmade ideology means that each project’s interior concerns are responded to individually, with consideration of the emotional, cultural and anthropological context.
Projects take on life and reflect the character and evolution through a collaborative design process. I enjoy bringing a new approach to traditional techniques creating interiors with traces of history, each with a new story to tell.
