VELA NEGRA
VELA NEGRA, is a line of black wax vegan coconut soy hand-poured wood wick candles. The unique fragrances of VELA NEGRA are inspired by various elements of my Afro-Cuban and Guyanese heritage. The fragrances and their namesakes remind me of my heritage and places like, Cuba, Puerto Rico, that I have been lucky enough to call home. Each candle is individually hand-poured using 100% vegan coconut soy wax and ethically sourced wooden wicks.

About Aisha Cort
Aisha learned candle-making from her Cuban grandmother as a child, but had picked it back up in recent years as a stress-reducing outlet. The goal of VELA NEGRA was to explore and share culture, while creating a mindful and environmentally conscious, but luxurious addition to home. Aisha is also a full-time lecturer of Spanish at Howard University and founder also of Hey Dr. Cort!® and VIVA LA LENGUA®.
